DEPARTMENT OF MASS COMMUNICATION GOES TO POLLS By  Admin   on  Wednesday, November 20, 2019 On the 18th of November, 2019; the department of mass communication came out to exercise their franchise, in their quest to elect new officials for the 2019/2020 session. The elections which were scheduled for 10:00 am, began precisely by 10:30 am as the ELCOM (Electoral committee) officials were awaiting the arrival of some electoral logistics. A Seven-man electoral committee headed by the chairman, Cletus Dawam and three security officials from the Naraguta campus security division conducted the elections in front of the Faculty of Arts. Mass communication students filed out to exercise their votes, as they formed a queue first; to be accredited before they vote. UNIVERSITY OF JOS HOLDS 91ST INAUGURAL LECTURE By  Admin   on  Wednesday, November 27, 2019 On the 26th of November, 2019, the University of Jos held its 91stInaugural Lecture which was delivered by Prof. Francis Aba Uba, a professor of Surgery and Consultant, Pediatric Surgeon (department of surgery), faculty of clinical sciences college of health sciences, University of Jos with the title: LETTING THOSE LITTLE ONES BLOOM. The lecture which commenced exactly 10:43 am in the multipurpose auditorium, was anchored by Sam Magaji, who began by introducing the professor taking the lecture (Prof. Francis Uba) and other dignitaries who led a procession to the stage. AMCOMS Wins Dean’s Cup in all Competition on FASA Week

By  Admin   on  Saturday, November 9, 2019 The department of mass communication on Friday, November 8, 2019 became winner in the dean’s cup competition in all games, having beaten the department of Religion and Philosophy in a volleyball competition, the department of Music in a female football and Religion and Philosophy again in the men’s football competition that started on Monday November 4, 2019. After beating the department of Archeology 3-2 to qualify for the final on Thursday, the mass communication forward, Philip Jang scored in a wonderful finish three minutes after the kick-off to seal a win for his side in the final. Also, in the volleyball final, mass communication beat the department of Religion and Philosophy again to win the competition and against the department of Music in the female football competition who did not show up for the final thereby mass communication female team won automatically. November 20, 2019 The vice president of National Association of Psychological Students, the University of Jos chapter, (NAPSUJ), Miss Gift Eze, organised a symposium titled “you on campus-your psychological well being” on the 25th October, 2019. In her opening speech, Miss Gift Eze, welcomed everyone present at the event. She further stated that issues that will be discussed at the event will help students in their academic endeavour and improve the relationship between lecturers and students take the program seriously. Speaking at the event, the guest speaker, Miss Esther Aderike Akinola stressed the need for mutual relationship between lecturers and students. JUESSA holds Election for 2019/2020 EXCOs

The JUESSA elections was held on the 21st of November 2019 and witnessed the election of new executives for the 2019/2020 session. The election polling unit was separated into two; the  Architecture polling unit and the building polling unit and was scheduled for 9 am began by 10 am due to some challenges which included the collection of ballot boxes from the security department. Some minutes into the election, students from the various departments in the faculty gathered and formed a queue in order to ensure orderliness during the elections. REPSA Election : Mercy Vongwok Emerged Victorious as the President- Elect By  Admin   on  Saturday, November 23, 2019 Mercy Vongwok, a 300L student of the Department of Religion and philosophy emerged as the winner of the election that took place in the Faculty of Arts on the 21st of November, 2019. There was so much joy and jubilation when she was announced as the president-elect. While speaking with one of the students of the association, she said “she is happy because this is the 1st time a female will emerge victorious as the President-elect and also, the fact that she was able to compete with two men and still win.
