JUESSA holds Election for 2019/2020 EXCOs

The JUESSA elections was held on the 21st of November 2019 and witnessed the election of new executives for the 2019/2020 session.

The election polling unit was separated into two; the  Architecture polling unit and the building polling unit and was scheduled for 9 am began by 10 am due to some challenges which included the collection of ballot boxes from the security department. Some minutes into the election, students from the various departments in the faculty gathered and formed a queue in order to ensure orderliness during the elections. In order to ensure the smooth running of the elections ballot boxes with tags for posts like the president, vice president, Secretary-General, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor General, Director of sports, Director of Social.

  In an interview with Kim Davou, the ELCOM chairperson made a statement that “we will do our best to ensure a free and fair election .he further encourage the votes to put in their best behavior so as to make the election a success

 Speaking to a 100 level student of Geography and Planning department, Matthew Pan, he expressed that the competition was tough but cannot wait for the outcome.

An aspirant Emmanuel Egbe said “in an open election its all about victory. If I win it’s God willing, if I lose I will accept it in good faith and help the other newly elected expos to make their tenure a success.”

Speaking with Kim Davou, the ELCOM chairman made a statement that, “we will do our best to ensure a free and fair election. He further encourage the votes to put in their best behavior so as to make the election a success.

  After proper supervision and counting of votes, the Elcom officials concluded and announced the result. At the end of the event, various reactions were flaying around as some were jubilant and celebrating their victory while those who lost left sad and solemn.
